His Story
In the heart of Rev. Frank Martin Osei-Sarpong burns a fervent passion for the upliftment of souls — a journey that began with a transformative encounter in 1994 akin to the biblical "Road to Damascus" moment. Hailing from the vibrant lands of Ghana, his odyssey through ministry commenced against the backdrop of his homeland's rich cultural tapestry.
With a foundational degree in science from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and a subsequent delve into law at GIMPA Law School, his academic pursuits laid the groundwork for a multifaceted ministry journey. It was within the sacred halls of Hartford International University and later Boston University School of Theology where his theological acumen flourished, marking the ascent of his divine calling.
Reverend Sarpong's dedication to nurturing young hearts and minds found expression through his pivotal roles within the Ghana Methodist Students Union and the Atlantic Hall Christian Fellowship, where he orchestrated transformative evangelistic endeavors and spearheaded church planting initiatives across the nation.
Within the embrace of his local congregation in Tema, the seeds of his visionary leadership found fertile ground — evidenced by his instrumental role in instituting the annual Crossover Watch Night Service and pioneering a dynamic Media Ministry, which swiftly evolved into a beacon of inspiration for neighboring churches. His tenure within the Methodist Church Conference further underscored his indelible impact, as he pioneered the establishment of the Methodist Television Network and breathed new life into the venerable Methodist Times newspaper.
Yet, it was his unwavering advocacy for equitable support for ministers within the church that truly epitomized his commitment to social justice and pastoral care. Despite initial resistance, his steadfast perseverance culminated in a landmark decision by the conference to ensure financial parity for ministers serving in marginalized communities.
Transitioning to the United States, Rev. Sarpong's luminary presence graced the Derby and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches, where he assumed leadership roles and cultivated a thriving media ministry, empowering the next generation to harness the transformative power of technology for spiritual outreach.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Sarpong's insatiable thirst for knowledge manifested in his self-taught expertise in computers and media technology — a testament to his boundless curiosity and relentless pursuit of excellence. Pastor Frank Sarpong lives in West Haven, Connecticut, with his wife, Nana.
